NUSS NEWS
Since it is too cold and windy for me to paint outside in the winter, I have been painting still lifes and landscapes in my studio. American Painting Fine Art, DC is having a exciting exhibition entitled Potomac River School, of which I am one of three artists. The opening is this coming Saturday, April 12, from 5-7 pm at 5118 MacArthur Blvd., NW, Washington, DC 20016. You are welcome to come and share the festivities. I have four paintings juried into the Spring 2008 Art at the Mill show, at the Burwell-Morgan Mill in Berryville VA, April 26 – May 11. Reception with the artists is Sunday, May 4, 2-5 pm, which I plan to attend. You may see two of the paintings at http://www.barbaranuss.com/calendar.html .
I am thrilled to have been juried into the “Paint Easton” plein air painting event which takes place in Easton, MD from July 21-27. Less than one third the applicants were accepted. In only it’s 4th year, Plein Air Easton is regarded as the premier of East Coast plein air compeitions and attracts applicants from all over the country. Recently I judged a Baltimore Watercolor Society show at Glenview Mansion in Rockville and gave a critique to the Senior Artists Alliance in Bethesda, MD in March. In May I am scheduled to judge the Potomac Valley Watercolorists exhibiton at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria.
