Well, it sure is a hot one today! The weather should cool off a bit for the reception this coming Saturday, June 14, from 5-7 pm at American Painting Fine Art, DC, 5118 MacArthur Blvd., NW, Washington, DC 20016. Please come and share the festivities. The exhibit entitled "The Parks of Washington" features paintings by the members of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters. You can see the four paintings that I have in the show at http://www.barbaranuss.com/calendar.html. The show continues through September 6, 2008.
I also invite you to a reception the following week on Friday, June 20th from 5-7 pm at the Athenaeum in Alexandria, VA. Ten members (including me) of the Washington Society of Landscape Painters will exhibit paintings in a show entitled "The Long View." The show continues through August 10, 2008. As I said in my last newsletter… I am thrilled to have been juried into the "Paint Easton" plein air painting event which takes place in Easton, MD from July 21-27. Less than one third of the applicants were accepted. In only it's 4th year, Plein Air Easton is regarded as the premier of East Coast plein air compeitions and attracts applicants from all over the country. Recently I judged the Potomac Valley Watercolor Show at Greenspring Gardens in Alexandria. In September, I am scheduled to judge the Randolph County Communitiy Arts Center Gala Art Exhbition in Elkins, WV. In conjunction with that, I will be giving a two-day workshop combining studio still life painting and plein air landscape painting. It should be interesting and a bit schizophrenic.
